What is the Medicare FISS system?

The FISS system is a single standard Medicare Part A claims processing system used to process Medicare claims related to medical care provided by hospitals, hospital based providers, Home Health and Hospice providers. • • View payment check history
  • • Inquire about beneficiary eligibility
  • • Cash Receipts and cash application
  • • Inquire about the status of claims
  • • Inquire about the need to respond to an additional development request (ADR)
  • • Access various inquiry screens (e.g., revenue codes, diagnosis codes, reason codes, etc.)
